Ephesians 6:12
The things on earth in our realm are a reflection of the heavens and the war in heaven.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Which is what many do not understand and this causes them to misinterpret passages such as Isaiah 14 where Lucifer is spoken of as being the king of Babylon.
Isaiah 14:4-15 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, … 12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
It is not the earthly Babylon. See also Ezekiel 28 where Satan is again described as the king of Tyrus. It is not an earthly king.
