a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

Most that reject the idea that God is a trinity, just as he made us in His image, cannot seem to understand context.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The context of John 8:58 is Christ saying he was God. This is attested to by the next verse.

John 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Leo Tolstoy (1828 – 1910); The Kingdom of God is Within You (1897)

Jesus Christ was the body of flesh God created to put himself in.

Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
