And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

The Ark is a similitude just as Noah’s Ark was a similitude of being in Christ. Noah was safe in the ark as we are safe in Christ. The Ark of Testimony, Moses’ Ark, was also a picture of Christ Jesus. The law in the ark was the letter being swallowed up by the Spirit in Christ. Aaron’s rod a picture of the resurrection in Christ. The whole Ark was a testimony of Christ Jesus. God’s Mercy Seat rested upon the Ark as His mercy in only through His Son, Christ Jesus.
Joshua 4:16 Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
