Genesis 5:5
Everything means something or has an original God-chosen meaning. This is something many need to realize. In Genesis 5:5 we have the first occurrence of death. Five is the number of death. There is a truism that the first occurrence of a word or thing sets its meaning. The first five books of Moses are the books of the law which condemn and sentence all men to death.
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Chapter 5 of Genesis uses the term “and he died” ten times. 2 x 5. Christ had five wounds, etc.
The Lord uses similitude to impart understanding.
Hosea 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
Every word and number in the Bible (KJV) means something, and it is the meaning by which the Lord shall judge all things by.
Able is often considered the first death and it was, but Adam was the first to die due to the curse, a natural death due to the corruption and sentence of death upon all.
