unless otherwise noted

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:16

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is that Spirit:
and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Our liberty in Christ Jesus is not having to fear whether we made it or not, we made it. Our salvation is secure and eternal. Our liberty is once saved, always saved. The Old Testament saints did not have this liberty as the Holy Spirit could not be given, could not indwell the believer, as Christ Jesus had not made the atonement to paid for their sins as yet.

John 7:38-39 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

The Old Testament saints had to wait in Abraham’s bosom until the atonement was made. They had forgiveness of sins, but their sins had not been paid for. It is the two-part process of salvation.
