IN the World, Not of the World

All Scripture Reference are KJV
unless otherwise noted

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:16

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Exodus 20:8

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:8

There are always those that desire to put us back under the letter of the law.

Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Our liberty in Christ is being free from the law of sin and death, that is the law has no power to condemn us any more. The Church, body of Christ, is not compelled to keep the Sabbath.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Those that say we are compelled to keep the Sabbath never seem to provide any consequence for not keeping it. Do they think you will loose salvation if you fail to keep it? That would constitute salvation by works, which is why we are not compelled to keep the Sabbath or any of the laws.

Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

All things are lawful in that the law cannot condemn us as we are dead to the law in Christ.

Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

All things may be lawful but all are not expedient or edifying. Expedient to what purpose? Our witness of the saving grace of Christ Jesus.

The law and its strictures and punishments were part of the Old Covenant made with the nation of Isreal. They are there today to learn from not to be in bondage to. But remember, we have to stand at the judgment seat of Christ and give an account of our lives.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Keeping the Sabbath or not keeping it will not be on the list for judgment. What you do every day will.
