Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:13
Our blessed hope is the return of our Lord and our full redemption. What we have now is the earnest of our salvation, the guarantee of our salvation. It is at the Lord’s return that we put off this corruption and put on incorruption.
Romans 8:22-24 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
It is at the Lord’s return and calling out of the Church, the Rapture or Translation of the Church, that we receive our new bodies.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
This is our blessed hope.
