It is difficult to decide what is the most important advice to give a young person on the verge of adulthood. If they were not raised in the fear of the Lord, it is more so. I recommend the following wisdom be taken to heart.
Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Malachi 3:16-17 KJV Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
Tell them they have freewill: use it wisely.
Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
