Being Offended is an Emotional Response

What does the Bible say about not being easily offended?
How do I overcome being easily offended?

It would be difficult to provide any kind of specific answer to your question, not knowing you or what it is you are offended over. The dictionary definition is that taking offense is an emotional response to something. Although it is human nature to respond emotionally first, hopefully reason will take hold.

I would say from my personal experience and observations that emotional dominance over reason is a sign of immaturity. This has nothing to do with age; many supposed adults have never grown up and remain emotional adolescents. This is one of the traits of drug abuse; the abuser ceases to grow emotionally, remaining at the age/stage he began abusing, and in later years does not respond to things as an adult would.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The heart is considered the emotional center. You should not judge things by your emotions, as the vast majority of the time, you will be wrong.

Pride, as another respondent mentioned, is a reason one is offended. Arrogant pride is an emotional feeling of superiority, not a reasoned position. All men have to understand and keep their pride in check. The opposite of pride, little self-worth, can leave one emotionally hurt and offended, also.

As a Christian, I can only suggest that you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ if you have not done so.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

If you are or after you are, I would suggest reading the Bible to know how you are to live and live as you know you should. As Christ Jesus is your judge, you have no reason to be offended if you are right with him.

Without knowing you or more of the situation, I do not see how anyone could respond intelligently to your question. Basically, the answer is to study and grow up.
