A Fellowship in Christ Jesus,
IN the World, Not of the World

All Scripture Reference are KJV
unless otherwise noted

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:16

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Colossians 2:20-23

Colossians 2:20-23

20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

We are dead in Christ, dead to the law; it has no more power over us to damn us.

21(Touch not; taste not; handle not;

So we are not subject to, in the eternal sense of salvation, the law..

22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Being free from the law’s power to damn us is our liberty in Christ: Once Saved, Always Saved.

23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Some of these deceitful teachings contain stringent physical aspects that amount to will worship or willing the body to do or accept these things. They may satisfy the desire of the flesh, but they do not gain you any honor or respect except in your own mind.

Some attempt to bring us back under the bondage of the law.

Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Bible believers are hit quite a bit on this issue with the accusation that we teach that the saved can do whatever they want. This is just a false accusation.

The penalty for sin is death, eternal damnation. If a truly saved individual commits what would amount to a sin punishable by damnation for a lost person, they will not suffer that consequence, as Christ has already paid that penalty for them. However, we do not have a free ride to do whatever we want. Christians will have to stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ and give an account of their lives from the day of their salvation until death or the Lord’s return.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

So besides the punishments man can inflict upon a saved individual and the chastisement the Lord can impose, we will also lose rewards in eternity.

As far as the penalty for sin, we are no longer subject to the law, being dead to the law. It is our liberty in Christ: Once Saved Always Saved.
