But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel 10:13
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
It would appear that the armies of the Lord are regulated and ranked just as human armies. The arrangements on earth, nations and such, seem to reflect what is in heaven. Michael is one of the chief princes in that hierarchy. There are, obviously, more leaders within the innumerable angels.
