What does the Bible say about departed Loved ones?
2 Samuel 12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
The book of Ecclesiastes is written from man’s point of view, under the sun. It goes by what we can know without God’s revelation. But in reality, the dead do know. Whether they died saved or lost determines their state.
With the saved, it is absent from the body, present with the Lord. Their flesh sleeps in the ground from which it came; their souls reside in Paradise with the Lord, waiting for the day of redemption and their new bodies.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
I say the truth, I lie not. It grieves me to have to preach the word of the Lord concerning the lost. As the Lord takes no pleasure in those that die lost; I take none in having to warn the living.
Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Those who die lost open their eyes in the fires of hell. They spend their time praying to God to send someone to their loved ones to warn them not to go where they have gone.
Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:27-28 KJV Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
You do not have to accept this; you must direct your heart. No matter how unpleasant it is for me; I have to tell you.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
