Men are a little lower than the angels in that we suffer death. Those who are saved, in the resurrection will become as the angels.

Angels are man living on a higher plain, what we call spiritual as opposed to physical. Apparently, there is a hierarchy, some command others. They are very powerful as we understand, but if we have faith we are said to be able to move mountains.
Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

As men, they have different levels of understanding.
Daniel 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
They are not given or taken in marriage.
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Hence, they must have all been individually created, being direct creations of God and not procreated, they are sons of God. There is no mention of female angels. This could explain Genesis 6.
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
They are spirits (I doubt our understanding of a spirit is correct) having physical form as well.
They obviously have free will as many rebelled against God.
