IN the World, Not of the World

All Scripture Reference are KJV
unless otherwise noted

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:16

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Galatians 4:10 – Superstition

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Galatians 4:10

The common answer for an explanation of the days, months, times, and years, of Galatians 4:10 is the Sabbaths and Jewish holydays, but I doubt this interpretation.

It is speaking of things like your horoscope and other astrology types of observance and possibly keeping the pagan holy days they were used to. I assume this as we are told not to let a man judge us in whether we observed the Jewish holy days or not.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

But here Paul is condemning them for what they do.

Galatians 4:9-11 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

It has to be something that they turned away from upon salvation or should not turn unto again. See an excellent article on this topic: Why Superstition Fails a Biblical Worldview.
