Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

The children of Israel had turn from following the Lord just as the world is doing now. They did not want to hear of see anything of the truth of God’s word.
Seer is another name for prophet.
1 Samuel 9:9 (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
They wanted the prophets to stop prophesying the truth and to tell them lies so they could sin without the discomfort of being told they were sinning.
