A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 1:8
In politics it is called a mugwump: your mug is on one side of the fence and your wump is on the other. It is an undecided person, one who cannot commit fully to walking with Christ. Your life is like a yo-yo, you are in, you are out. Such a person will be fearful of the consequences of serving the Lord.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
James 1:6-7 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
You are going to be in a rather limited position with the Lord if you cannot commit to being faithful.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
The cure is to purify your heart, commit wholly to the Lord.
