Replacement Theology simply states that all the promises and prophesies concerning the nation of Israel have been transferred to the Church. It states that Israel has permanently been cast off. You can argue when its founding principles were incorporated within Church doctrine but would not be wrong in suggesting the time of Constantine and the foundings of Rome Catholicism.
Naturally, the doctrine is a false teaching according to the Bible.
Romans 11:1-2 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
Israel is the focal point of God’s revelation of himself to the world.
Jeremiah 31:35-37 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
Israel is the burning bush. It can neither be consumed by the flame nor its flame extinguished.
Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
God’s dealings with Israel may have been postponed but they are not transferred to the Church. To properly understand the OT prophecies and the gospels you have to subtract the Church age from the rejection of Stephen’s preaching to the Rapture.
